Doris May Huschka

Doris May Huschka, 90, of Janesville passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday evening, June 25, 2011 surrounded by loved ones. Doris was born in Janesville on May 1, 1921, the daughter of William E and Mabel (DeCoster) Moore. She graduated from Janesville High School on June 8, 1939 and on June 8, 1940 was united in marriage to Robert L. Huschka in Dubuque, IA. Doris grew up in the same neighborhood where she spent her entire life and raised her family. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, canning, freezing produce and trying new recipes. A very thoughtful person, she was always sending cards to family and friends on special occasions. She has been a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church since March 1947 where she was active with potlucks and other events in her younger years. She liked doing crossword puzzles, crafts, card games, house plants, reading and traveling.

Surviving are her husband, Robert “Bob” Huschka, two sons, Keith (Irma) Huschka of rural Edgerton, Lloyd (Gloria J.) Huschka of Janesville, one daughter, Gloria D. Huschka of Janesville, four grandchildren, Lisa (Bob) Harrie, Clark (Kelli Laws) Huschka of Janesville, Todd Huschka of Whitefish Bay, WI, Natalie (Juan) Huschka-Castro of Cambridge, WI, 2 step-grandsons, Nick Templeton of Madison, Ross Templeton of Arizona, seven great-grandchildren. Doris is preceded in death by a daughter, Carol as well as her parents and her brother, Kenneth Moore who was killed while serving in World War II.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 2940 Mineral Point Avenue, Janesville. Rev. William Wagner will officiate. Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Church. Memorials may be made to Seeing Eyes For The Blind or HospiceCare, Inc. Doris Huschka’s family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
